New Age
Silence overtakes the land
In the wake of the end
When not one sound is heard
You know it was a success

Soon the wailing begins
From somewhere far away
As the smoke begins to fade
Nothing there remains

It was too loud to be heard
Too bright to be seen
Too fast to be found
Destruction is the only evidence

The explosion was instant
The devestation immence
The bomb was catastrophic
If one bomb worked that well

Then the second will undoubtedly be unconscionable
but will be fired anyway
as is the American way

And as the silence overtakes the land
In the wake of the second end
When not one sound is heard
You know it was a success

This great
Why
I can't help
But wonder
Why.

Why do we hurt,
Burn and bury
Our brothers?
Our sisters?

Why do we choose
Who deserves to live,
Who deserves to die?
Playing God with mortal souls.

We sacrifice our innocence
As we lay down our lives,
Our delicate lives,
To take a stand without cause.

I can't help
But wonder
Why.

Why do we crash,
Spiral and drown
Our ideals of peace and promise?
Our planes and concrete steel?

Why do we take it upon ourselves
To avenge and descend
Into the depths of origin?
With primitive thoughts and semi-automatic clubs.

However the largest question,
That baffles my mind,
Is why bother.

What is the point.
In the end.
With
Missing You
I miss you.
And I refuse to believe,
That it is true.

It wasn't your turn!
They couldn't have even tried,
To save you, I miss you...

They don't understand!
As they speak professionally,
I wish they had understood...

I love you.
Loved you.
And I miss you.

So what do they want?
That I accept this...

**** be warned there are some gory bits (they are very short).  If you do not like gore, then do not read the this.****

“Kid, Kid,”  I shake his shoulders, “Kid!”  I yell loudly.  I take his pulse, my bloodied fingers leaving red streaks across his skin.  The pulse is there though it is faint.  “I’m going to start with the sewing so try not to…”  I was originally say ‘try not to move’ however that seems like a waste since he is in no state to move.  Instead I say “so try not to wake up”.  I don’t know why I’m talking to him since I know that my words are fal
Independence
I'm tired of being pulled around,
Hung up and put down
By a string of contradictions,
The string being held
By the cold puppeteer's hands.

I'm tired of this type of existence.
Tired of being forced to live like this
With a fast jerk of the string
The puppeteer makes me act.

I cannot do this any more!
I cannot be this prop,
For anger and stress relief!
I cannot be held back or brought down any longer!

So with this blade,
I'll try to take my freedom back.
And with a slash
The strings of confusion and control will fall...

Motionless on the floor...

The Knight
With bated breath,
I lie in wait.
Waiting for the fire,
And brimstone to fall down on me,
And cover me in ash.

I lie under the cloak of night,
Brandishing my steel sword as if it were my soul.
My iron clad body,
Holding steady,
As I wait for him.

The dragon of my fears.
With gleaming white fangs,
And a hard, cold stare
That burns flesh,
Like a winter's storm.

The dragon of the earth.
With such a brilliance,
And majesticness,
That it is unmatched by all other creatures.

The dragon,
With the jaded soul,
Jagged scales and strong legs
That carry his agile frame effortlessly.

That is thought to be perfect and lethal;

Merci beaurcoup. Thank you. I'm not yet sure if it is what the group likes for six word stories but... maybe... fingers crossed.
