Dark tunnels
Through which I see
An endless road
Of pure cold misery,

And although I've dreamt
Of a place of light,
Black fog rolls forth
And covers my eyes.

There is no escaping it,
The darkness of my soul,
The dark pit in my heart,
The loss of life's spark,

And although I've tried
To avoid this being,
With a grim smirk
I have seen
The monster in my eyes.

And oh, how sickly sullen
My mind has become
With the opaque illness
Too sickened to just let me die.

Oh god,
I want to die.

For, with death comes relief,
An eviction from this bitter world,
So filled with lies and chagrin
Just let it end.

Let me be done
With this agony,
This torment

Fixing You

A broken heart
made of glass and crystal
turned to stone

a perfect frame
yet so fragile
like porcelain

but perfection
doesn't matter
with no heart

but I will mend you
my little broken doll
so sweet yet so faint

I will hold your heart
in my hands
so delicately

I shall mend it
with a fine needle
and smooth thread

I have the technology
to cure you
to fix you

you little girl
with a porcelain face
I will fix you

But these cracks
so deep and long
have become so cold

so dead and still
after so long
of feeling lost and unloved

little lost cause
I want to see you
differently

but it has become so hard
so painful to try

Teratophobia

I am scared.
Scared of the monsters
Lurking in my past.

The monsters
With wicked eyes.
Who watch me,
Waiting for a chance,
An opportunity,
To knock me off balance.

I am scared
Of the monsterous things I have done
And who I have become;
As a result of the hatred,
And resentment,
And those terrible things
That are too unspeakable
To be said.

I fear
That the monsters,
Whose red gleaming eyes;
Red like the colour of blood,
Red like the roses collecting dust in the corner;
The monsters with such hideous eyes
Will make their presence known.

I am scared
That all that I am
Will shatter in an instant,
Will disappear,
Like s

I don't want to change
I can't be what you want
I've tried
and tried
and tried again

I'm tired of trying

Can't you just accept it?
I'm not a robot
your little silent doll
stop trying to fix me
I'm not broken

I'm just a corpse
a shell
of a girl you used to know

I'm not broken

can't you let me go?
let go of the image
that I'll never live up to
the smile
that you'll never see again

we need to give this back
I'm vacant
an idea of what you want
a flawed dream
don't fix me
don't touch me
force me into this mould again

I tried to fit
I tried to match
I tried to conform

I'm just not who you think I should be

I never was

Deserved

You see me differently
No one else possibly can
You understand me
When I don't make any sense

You love me
Or loved me
I hope for present
But I suppose it isn't deserved

You see me differently
And this love has suddenly vanished
But I don't want to lose you
I can't lose you

Your love is all I have
That keeps me from the edge
The only constant
The only positive I have left

And I know you love me
Or at least that you loved me
And although I hope for the present
I suppose it isn't deserved

I was alone
Trapped in my solitude
And I reached out for you
I reached out to you

But your hand wasn't there

You left me here
Wishing that I had played

Rose Coloured Glasses

Cotton candied clouds,
Passing through the sky.
A world of innocence,
Where no one's gonna die.

Eco-friendly cars,
Driving down the street;
Where people are always kind,
To everyone they meet.

And these rose coloured glasses,
Will never tint my thoughts,
For these are proven facts,
That there are never any faults.

Rising

This is it
and it is time
for me to wake up
and bring myself back
from the edge

I feel myself
keeping calm
and continuing forward
with nowhere to look
but straight
into the eyes of hell

I'm waking up
emerging from the earth
that had covered me
for far too long
I'm on fire
with a liquid soul

It is time
to stake my claim
This is it
my final chance
to prove myself

I suppose
this is your final chance
to voice your opinion
not that I'm going to listen
This is my revolution
my rebellion

but don't expect me to care

So as I rise up
and reclaim my birth right
my right to freedom

Vanity

Twinkling eyes
And toothpick frames
With long legs
And tiny waists

Blood red lipstick
Liquid smooth skin
And mascara covered eyes
Such thick eye lashes

The bubbly giggles
And catty gossip
Fills the perfumed air
With such false vanity

The falsest of societies
The most glamorous
With such vain smiles
And bitterly hungry lives

With no mistakes allowed
In the flawless lives of models
In their world of absurdity
And mascaraed eyelashes

Not Alone

When your dreams are golden
But your life has become a tarnished memory
When your socks have a holes
And your bread is moldy
Just remember it isn't over

When the world is five steps too far
And the cold is woven into your sweater
When the lights fade out
And your crying is muffled by the mask
That you have worn for too long
Just remember that it is not the end

When the doors close in your face
And the cold shoulders kick in
And time has finally frozen solid
Remember that I am always here
And that you are never alone

When your world caves in
And the darkness is inescapable
And the end seems to be approaching

Painted Horse

the acrylic colour
of a wild beast
that runs and rises
before the sun

a wild animal
that man
will never understand
never take for claim

made of pure energy
braided into flesh
freedom left standing
staring before you

a beautiful creature
made in likeness of
nature's splendour
a beauty immeasurable

the muscles ripple
leaving nothing
but death and dust
as splinters break free

with fur of copper
a heart of fire
eyes of lightning
and limbs of liquid steel

roaming the west
unworldly and precious
majestic and untamed
the painted horse runs free

Goddess

She lies on the boughs of a great old tree;
Singing low from somewhere you can't see.
The words flowing in the sweetest melody.
She is but the goddess of poetry.

She sneaks into your dreams in the darkest night,
In the form of nothing but pure light.
She takes you by the hand to show you how
To see what others can't in the world around.

She shows you life and she shows you love.
You know she must be from somewhere above.
She is both your talent and your muse;
She is all the words you want to choose.

She's the rushing river through the snow,
The warm wind in the prairie's blow.
She's the cloud that passes through the sky.
She is the truth

But if you had a chance

"I love you?"

What happened
And how I got so far away
I'm so lost
The only place I can see
Is the wall of your heart
As you hold me close

I don't know most things
Though I act as if I do

Melody

Let the sound flow
The waves enveloping you
In an euphonious symphony
Of perfection

Allow it to overwhelm you
Fire up every nerve ending
And send you into a euphoric coma
Of musical delights

Let the music play
The waves filling the air
Finely coating every molecule
With the muted power of song

Allow it to flood the world
Forge new paths
And join together
The most distant of parts

Let the melody infiltrate your mind
Engulf you in a tsunami of emotions
Allow it to infect you
With a contagious lust for more

For if music truly is the food of love
Then do play on
And never stop
No matter what

For if the music dies
Happiness will p

Independence

I'm tired of being pulled around,
Hung up and put down
By a string of contradictions,
The string being held
By the cold puppeteer's hands.

I'm tired of this type of existence.
Tired of being forced to live like this
With a fast jerk of the string
The puppeteer makes me act.

I cannot do this any more!
I cannot be this prop,
For anger and stress relief!
I cannot be held back or brought down any longer!

So with this blade,
I'll try to take my freedom back.
And with a slash
The strings of confusion and control will fall...

Craziness

I know I'm imperfect.
I know I'm troubled,
Difficult to deal with.
I know I should be
Nothing but grateful
That you stay with me.

I know I'm crazy.
I am impulsive,
And overbearing;
Something you remind me
Everytime we argue.
Yet I should be happy
That you choose to stay.

I don't know why
I cannot be what you want,
What you expected.
I must be out of touch,
But to you I swear,
With my electric heart,
That I will love you,
And I will be better.

I kiss you as you leave,
But feel nothing in return.
And I sit in my silk dress
On the edge of the staircase,
I realize something saddening,
Something I've long overlooked.

The Thin Line

Walking the thin line,
'tween plain and sublime.

Can you teach me
How to feel,
How to breathe?

Can you hold me
In your arms,
And lead me?

Can you feel me
Within your grasp?
My heart beating fast.

Can you break me down?
I know you can,
Simply leave me here alone.

Can you teach me
How to hold my breath,
How to gaze into the sun?

Can you feel me?
Or am I already too silent,
Too invisible to you.

This world is beyond my understanding,
So teach me how to tell you
That I still love you.

This world so cold,
So teach me how to stay
In your love and warmth.

Although I am gone,
And my skin has frozen,
Try to still love me.

Can you teach me
How to be real again,
How to show my love for you?

Before I disappear,
And unable to follow you through,
Can you teach me, how to love you?
